Lise named Gramophone Young Artist of the Year
Lise has been named as Young Artist of the Year at the 2018 Gramophone Awards, which were held in London on 13 September. Lise also performed with pianist James Baillieu and closed the evening with a performance of Richard Strauss' 'Morgen' with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and Gramophone Lifetime Achievement Award-winner, Neeme Järvi.
This season Lise makes her Bayreuth Festival debut as Elisabeth in Tannhäuser, which she also sings in return visits to Zurich Opera and the Bavarian State Opera. Other highlights include Liza The Queen of Spades at Stuttgart Opera and her debut with the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, as Freia Das Rheingold, Ortlinde Die Walküre and Third Norn Götterdämmerung. As well as appearing at the Edinburgh Festival and the BBC Proms, she performs Strauss’s Four Last Songs with the Danish National and Stavanger Symphony orchestras and Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Sieglinde in Die Walküre with the Antwerp and Toronto Symphony orchestras and Wagner Wesendonck Lieder with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra.
Lise recently signed to Decca Classics and her debut album is slated for release in Spring 2019. It will feature Strauss Four Last Songs and arias from Ariadne auf Naxos and Tannhäuser.
