'Beethoven: Fidelio' available for purchase on July 16
Pentatone's newest album release, "Beethoven: Fidelio", featuring Lise Davidsen and the Dresdner Philharmoniker, conducted by Marek Janowski, will be available for purchase on July 16.
The Sunday Times heralded the recording, saying, "Davidsen's lyrical, even girlish timbre and the insights gained from her live run pay dividends here...Janowski is a swift, vital Beethovenian, and the Dresden Opera Chorus sings with breathtaking beauty in the Act I finale."
A fantastic casts joins Davidsen for this recording, including Christian Elsner (Florestan), Georg Zeppenfeld (Rocco), Christina Landshamer (Marzelline), Cornel Frey (Jaquino), Johannes Martin Kränzle (Don Pizzarro) and Günther Groissböck (Don Fernando).
