Following her nomination for the Nordic Council Music Prize, Lise has also been nominated for Spellemann and Music Norway’s Norwegian Music Export Awards. The award, first given in 2016, was founded to honour musicians from all genres bringing their Norwegian music to global attention. Decided by a jury of prominent music industry figures, the winner of the award will be announced at a special event in Oslo on 9 July.
Elsewhere this week, Lise makes her London recital debut on 9 May at the prestigious Rosenblatt Recital series at Wigmore Hall. Accompanied by James Baillieu, Lise performs songs and arias by Grieg, Sibelius, Giordano, Verdi, Cherubini, Mascagni, Wagner and Strauss. She returns to London on 10 August when she joins the BBC Philharmonic and John Storgårds at the Royal Albert Hall for her debut at the BBC Proms. Lise performs Sibelius Luonnotar and extracts from Grieg Peer Gynt.
